Staff say that Felix is part of the family although she does like to think that she runs the place they say

A beloved moggie who has spent almost five years patrolling a West Yorkshire railway station has been given a promotion for her dedication to her job

The beloved cat is pictured here being held by Andy McClements Customer Services Team Leader with Andy Croughan Station Manager left and Chris Bamford Customer Services Assistant right

Felix even has her very own Facebook page with thousands of followers

As a result of her hardwork Felix has been given her own catflap and has captured the hearts of commuters

Chris Bamford a Customer Services Assistant at the station said The promotion is just a nice appreciation of Felixs work It is a reward for nearly five years of service Her presence just brings a smile

The dedicated moggies name was given to her when she was a kitten and staff thought she was a male

Over the years lots of train stations in Britain have used cats to keep mice numbers down

Ever since she was a kitten she has been a valuable and popular member of the station team keeping it vermin-free

Feeling right at home Felix perches on seats alongside customers as they wait for trains to arrive
